DRxug of Choice: Pick Your Poison by LGBTQ author Christopher Duquette available in pre-release

Author Christopher Duquette’s second nonfiction title is available in pre-release through 2nd Spirit Books . . .

2nd Spirit Books is set to release author Christopher Duquette’s newest title, “DRxug of Choice: Pick Your Poison” and re-release of “HOMO GOGO MAN: A Fairytale About A Boy Growing Up In Discoland” summer of 2019. Mr. Duquette’s first title has performed very well through private sales and independent self-promotion, so much so that it is being released with an enhanced cover design alongside his newest release, “DRxug of Choice.”

Christopher Duquette is a New York City / New Jersey native who began college in NYC and then navigated to Studio 54 where he learned he was homosexual and began a career dancing among the glitz and glam of the Studio 54 era. In reconciling his coming-out and reconciliation of same, he had a very supportive family who buttressed Chris’s acknowledgement and awareness of his inner identity, which resulted in his being able to move past addiction into recovery. All LGBT and LGBTQ lifestyle individuals are aware that in the Studio 54 era . . . even with a dystopian culture of the times . . . coming-out and self-acceptance toward total self-awareness was not an easy pill to swallow, which often resulted in pill-taking to achieve that goal. Moving beyond to a balance of whole self is what Christopher Duquette achieved. And, he is happy to call himself a homosexual now while residing with the love of his life, Storm. Having a soulmate in life aids every soul in reaching the horizon of tranquility and zen. Thankfully, Chris and Storm have this existence and getting there is a story, which is shared in both of these titles.

About DRxug of Choice: Christopher Duquette’s latest release summer of 2019. This is an expose on life and how trying to get it right sometimes results in things going wrong while following the direction of people who are supposed to be in the know and intending to do no harm. When the results of good choices go wrong – how you resolve it all and move into the knowing the good while reinventing life to an enlightened state is where the compass leads.

About HOMO GOGO MAN: Written in the first person, this fictional story is about a sexually suppressed boy who learns to dance to express himself, dance for a living, and dance to love life. Starting in the disco era of the 70 s, the protagonist is introduced to the fast world of go-go dancing, hustling, drugs and underground clubs after his first man-on-man encounter while exploring Times Square after he arrives at college. The story continues on his odyssey to live the big life in New York City as he trips through clubs, more drugs, and a series of boyfriends for two decades until he bottoms out in his forties from too much of the above. “Homo GoGo Man,” a play on words of the species homo sapien , is a tale of a gay man avoiding extinction.

About the Author: I am beginning to field my title once more in NYC after a sabbatical in Rural New York to recalibrate from over technologicalization of my life; however, all things come full circle, and I missed the Big Apple. Currently, I hail in Jamaica Queens NYC and I am busily finding my path to the hidden niche’s of books, people, and readings . . . look for me throughout our great city and beyond in the 2017 – 2018 book-signing circuit. If you have a venue, bookshop, store, grocery mart, location for a book reading and signing – I’m interested in hearing from you and so is my publisher, “Q” of DonnaInk Publications, which is a small, economically disadvantaged, woman-owned publishing initiative who offer writers everything but the kitchen sink – they have big hearts and – although, due to size, they can’t deliver everything they’d like to – DonnaInk Publications delivers quality creations, heartfelt support, and authorial success in spite of it all. Mostly, I want to say I appreciate you all as readers who have traversed the Disco Era or heard about it. If you are coming out, in the closest, straight and unafraid of life choices, or as gay as a blue-jay – thank you for being here and sharing this glimpse of history. As a clean adult, post-era, I’m privileged to share a moment of history in recovery and pray the same for each of you.

Author Cliff Hill’s title, “The Broken Looking Glass” 2nd Edition release

“The Broken Looking Glass,” combines the perspective of the author’s cutting edge science and spirituality focus regarding materialism and duality as being causal of problems currently existing in the world.

Cliff Hill’s title, “The Broken Looking Glass: An American Adventure” in second edition summer 2019 through the Pashar Sage Press. This interesting title about self-discovery is reformatted, with new cover design and the authors’ changes, which expand on the original theme. “The Broken Looking Glass: An American Adventure,” combines the perspective of the author’s cutting edge science and spirituality focus regarding materialism and duality as being causal of problems currently existing in the world. Much in the tradition of J.D. Salinger and Mark Twain the book follows the author on a journey that begins with a wrong turn and takes him down a road of self-discovery he never imagined existed.

An excerpt:
They say Philadelphia is a dangerous place. Most of the people I had met were afraid of the area where the shelter is located. I felt no danger or fear. I was at peace.

Over the previous years of my life, I had discovered there were far more dangerous places to be. In 1963, the hospital delivery room at My Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana had offered more possible danger to my survival – but somehow, I managed to survive that experience.

Somehow, I had survived many dangerous and potentially lethal situations. I had cheated death many times. I had grown comfortable in places others considered dangerous. The truth was; for the most part, I felt safer and more comfortable lying on the ledge in Philadelphia than any other place I had been in the previous 48 years of my life.

As I was headed north on a greyhound bus one week earlier; it had occurred to me that Philadelphia was the place of the conception and birth of the American Colonist’s quest for liberty and transformation . . .

Later, it had also occurred to me that my quest for liberty and transformation had become a journey into the heart of what America had become; AND, it appeared it would end in the city where America had begun.

The business of time and communication

The end of the year provides such melancholy, and opposing bliss, that we waver like the tide. Hopefully, each of us between these rises and falls grow increasingly aware of our moments where faith stirs our hearts toward greater aspirations of humanity; while we cope with the currents of business and time and minutia of communications set to pierce our hearts as they maneuver in those aspirations.

Life is a complicated journey.

To all the Carthagians I’ve grown to love ~ thank you for remaining aware of faith in aspiration that far outweighs those piercing interludes we, together, overcome blissfully.

Each of you have restored my soul.

Happy and Joyous Noel

with God’s blessings as we aspire into 2018 . . .

As It Is Written, So Shall It Be: The Dark Chambers of Carthaginian – my newest novel . . .

secretos-comprension-lectora“As It Is Written, So Shall It Be: The Dark Chambers of Carthaginian” is my new novel and this is day one of her creation! Filled with supernatural events, under-worldly organized crime, and sin plotted against belief, this title brandishes a small town Americana universe comprised of Carthaginians who are pitted against The Dark Chambers, a group of power-crazed organized crime members who keep a lid on their piece of the American pie.

The protagonist, is a supra-normal social scientist, who begins to discover supernatural gifts, which disclose themselves in karmic fashion as each Dark Chamber member begins to be plagued. It appears the universal source intends to overcome evil by delivering sin for sin.

Will the Carthaginians rediscover their freedoms? We shall see!

Where a series of facts are set into play, the ideal of a conspiracy is moot!
10_give-the-fish-its-jungle-backIn my new title, “As It is Written, So Shall It Be: The Dark Chambers of Carthaginian,” you get a dose of realism penned with the swag of creationism. In this novel, the small Carthaginian Village maintains a church on every corner, if not two, three or four and has long been stripped of freedoms in a nation of the free.

The protagonist is a woman. She learns The Dark Chambers, a group of savvy business leaders hellbent on power, have drawn a clear line in the sand between elitism and everyone else. They don’t allow anyone to overcome the autocracy they’ve created. Even representatives are staged as Sovereign leaders who reign, instead of advocate for their local diatribe. And, in support of this Sovereign facade, scores of criminals thrive while the town’s believers and law enforcing white-lighters strive to enact propriety and uphold liberty and nationalism.

The Dark Chambers continue overlooking criminals because they are members of the organized crime families and help them stay in power.

Where Organized Crime meets Small Town USA
160322105Organized crime has a long-standing history in America and “As It is Written, So Shall It Be: The Dark Chambers of Carthaginian” is her newest breed of Cointelesque Organized Crime Madness.

Where newcomers with fresh ideas are beset against the stepford lifestyle landscape; community oldsters have long-since shrugged off the ideals of liberty. They’ve exchanged free-thinking with complacency and an under our thumb dictatorial mantra.

Is there hope?
Our protagonist is a supra-normal social scientist who wields her gifts unwittingly. Karmic events are brought from behind the veil and wielded on one Dark Chamber member at a time. As the crimes of the Dark Chamber are unearthed; the protagonist’s visions disclose their dark history revealing the true light of the Village of Carthaginian.

Then the long-quieted Carthaginians themselves, reawaken source and reveal greater and greater works of light. Is it enough for our protagonist to prevail until the Carthaginians are totally free of The Dark Chambers bondage?

Supra-normal vs Organized Crime . . . who will prevail?
bfb013f84eb6e53710941122704dc8e8As the author of this emerging supernatural drama, I can only say, you have to read “As It Is Written, So Shall It Be: The Dark Chambers of Carthaginian.” And, while I do not like gratuitous sex, this remains a clean read title but it is riveted with seven deadly sins and also includes lust, prostitution, adultery and even murder because The Dark Chambers, as all organized crime, is driven by, and resonates in, a world driven by evil.

Will the Village of Carthaginian be restored to the light of Christ?
The Dark Chambers, disguised as agents of Christ, are malevolent creatures of an underworld bent on serving hedonistic manna to the community of “everyone else.” However, these true believers of even greater numbers, held down by unwritten traditions of multi-generational underworld organized crime, are determined to rise up and yield to the protagonist’s powers as they are revealed. The Village of Carthaginian begins to acknowledge the karmic events that happen daily and add their own gifts and powers toward the climax of this title.

As it is written – so shall it be!
